Today’s giving: Took the daughters to one of several middle school open houses.
Beaverton schools offers choice to middle and high school students. Having choice in education is important because it helps children practice making decisions. As they make decisions, they gain confidence as they move toward becoming adults who can think independently.
As parents, we have choices in the number of open houses we attend. By attending a single open house, our girls can see one school. By attending many open houses, they see many schools. From that they can compare and contrast, learning along the way how to make an informed decision.
When you open a door for someone, you give an opportunity. When you open many doors, you give them a choice in their future.
