Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 33

Today’s giving: Packing up a box of things for my mother as she starts rehabilitation after her surgery. care package

Giving our time gives back to us. How does this work?

When we give our time, it strengthens the people around us, and it builds strong communities. We build positive emotions in those we help, as well as ourselves. Those positive emotions create more positive emotions and even boost our health.

When we give our time, we’re also connecting ourselves to the wider world. We’re opening ourselves up to experiences which live in other people, and we learn the things those people have to teach us. In short, it helps us go beyond our own limitations.

Giving our time gives back to us.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
