Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 111 – The Coolest Goodbye Email Ever

Together with the Beaverton Education Foundation,  we’ve been working on a fundraiser to span all of Beaverton that shows our appreciation of our schools’ teachers and staff. No direct help for anyone yet, but we’re trying.  Also, one of my daughters gets to go to the library tonight with her dad.

A few days ago, I got an email from someone who is leaving our company. Instead of just saying that it’s been great, he wrote a lengthy email and wrote something to everyone in the office, thanking them personally or complimenting them on something the two had shared.

In my opinion, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen anyone do when they leave a company. And its also one of the most thoughtful.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!

What a good idea! Since I’m leaving the OR shortly there are many people that I’d love to touch that way. That is a neat idea. I have a story or two for just about everyone I work with.
