Provided feedback for a teen drop-in center in Colorado looking for ideas to improve their tagline. Thanks to sparked.com for inspiration.

I give my time. I volunteer. I save money.

Excuse me? That last one, saving money. How does that work?

It’s simple. When you are volunteering, it is very likely you are involved in a project for an hour or a day. During that time you are not:

  • Shopping.
  • Eating out.
  • Watching advertisements from television or the internet.
  • Buying new things for your apartment, home or lawn.
  • Being a part of the consumer culture.
  • Participating in your expensive hobby.
When you give your time you are not spending money.
And that saves you money.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
