Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 138 – Velcro Connections

A group at Virginia Commonwealth University is trying to transcribe Civil War documents through sparked.com. Gave my best shot at transcribing a page of names of discharged soldiers. It was quite interesting.

One of the best things about giving our time is the connections we make. Those connections can make our world richer and ultimately give back to us in ways we can’t foresee. But we can’t always see how any individual connection benefits us.

It is useful to think of these connections like velcro. Each individual connection is relatively weak, but together they form a strong bond.

The more we give our time, the more connections we make, the stronger our attachment to our community.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
