Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 141 – Stamp Out Hunger Day

Took a page right off the Random Acts of Kindness website and took six cans of food up to our mailbox for Stamp Out Hunger Day 2011. Also, yesterday, continued more lunch hour work of transcribing Civil War documents.

Here’s a short history of the  National Association of Letter Carriers’ food drive. It started with just a few branches of the association collecting food. Last year they collected a record, and amazing, 77.1 million pounds of food.

Like all good things, it started small. And with persistence and determination it grew.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I bet that the people behind it weren’t getting paid to make it happen.

They probably just started by … giving their time.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
