Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 152 – Practice Raising Your Hand

Sent a few pointers to a website that needed some help with artistic licensing via sparked.com. I’m no licensing guru, but a few minutes of my time searching the web may help this non-profit meet their goals.

“Do I have any volunteers?”

Ever hear this before? Ever notice that very few hands are raised?

Why are we so reluctant to raise our hands and volunteer for something?

  • Think you are too busy? The people already running the organization are busy too.
  • Think you don’t fully understand what’s involved? No one understands something fully until they jump in.
  • Don’t think you can make a commitment? Give it your best.

If you are reluctant to raise your hand, maybe you need to just practice raising it.

Then practice again and again.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
