Attended a second performance of my son’s play, Beauty And The Beast.

Last night, my family and I attended the opening night of my son’s play. Tonight, my wife and I attended the final show. It did not even occur to us that whether we would attend or not. The question was how many shows can we attend.

Through the years, my wife and I have been actively involved in our children’s schools as volunteers and attendees of events. There are many studies to show how volunteering at your children’s school and being actively involved with their education has an impact on their success.

And yet, I see non-involved parents. I see parents that rarely show up for events. I see parents that keep their children in daycare most of the day. I see parents that yell often. I see parents that isolate their children.

Fortunately, I also see parents that are involved. They attend the plays. They host the events. They coach the teams. They volunteer in the classroom. They fundraise. They try to listen to their children.

Parents that are involved don’t do their best. They do better.
