Delivered the keynote address this morning for the District 7 Toastmasters Leadership Institute conference. The subject was membership.
Over the past year, I’ve been the VP of Membership for Timber Talkers, a Toastmasters club in Beaverton. We’ve added over 20 new members during that time.
Through my highly unscientific observations, I’ve concluded that the secret to having a growing membership is rather simple.
If you focus on the needs of the guest or member, you will have success.
The needs?
- A safe environment
- A feeling of connection
- Fun!
Care about your guests, and they will care about you.
