Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 186 – Passing The Torch

Spent two hours with a volunteer from my daughter’s elementary school transitioning the PTC website to her.

All things have beginnings and endings.

Tonight, after four years of maintaining the McKay Elementary PTC website, I passed the baton to another volunteer.

When my son and daughters started at the school, Google couldn’t find the school’s website. And the parent teacher club website didn’t exist. I created it as a way to give information to other parents and teachers.

Now that my daughters are leaving elementary, it is time to pass the torch. I am leaving it in good hands, but there is a touch of sadness.

When you create something, especially something which you want to last, you need to let it go. But, like a parent watching his or her child go off to college, it is hard to let go.

But let it go I have. And I’m looking forward to the next volunteering challenge that comes along.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
