Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 198 – Librivox, Giving Story Time To The World

Got set up and worked through the technical issues of submitting a 1-minute audio sample to librivox.org. Using volunteer readers, librivox is creating audio books of public domain works with the goal of making them all available for free as audio books.

I have been reading aloud to my children for about eleven years. In that time, we’ve shared an amazing number of books, stories, and poems together.

But as they get older, I expect they will no longer want to sit through story time. That is the sad reality of getting older.

Recently, I found librivox.org. Through collaborative efforts of a community, their goal is to make every public domain work into an audio book available for free.

Perhaps through librivox.org and the efforts of a community, we can give story time to the world.

One chapter at a time.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
