Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 217 – A Gift In Your Honor

Bought a friend a drink over breakfast, ironically, not knowing today was his birthday… Also found an easy way to give online that is one step better than just giving money.

Ran across this article on mashable.com today. Seven easy ways to give online, check it out.

One of the seven was Plan USA. Instead of just making a mindless money donation, it gives you an opportunity to buy a specific gift to give. You can buy a blanket for a child, buy a bicycle for a girl to get to school, or even buy a cow.

Plan does make allowances if they can’t give your specific gift, but a gift choice helps connect the donor with the recipient. Even if I never meet the recipient of my small gift, I at least know better what is needed to improve someone else’s life.

My gift? Chickens.

And I made it in your honor. Thanks for reading.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
