Post-Christmas Resolution, Day 269 – The Only Gift That Really Matters

Time is the only gift that really matters to your children.

Today, I …

Drove my son and daughter #1 to school this morning.

Encouraged daughter #1 to handle her forgotten homework without blaming others.

Chatted with daughter #2 before school.

Relayed a phone message from my son to my wife to take his glasses to school.

Listened to daughter #2 play her new french horn.

Took daughter #1 to a volleyball meeting.

Shared breadsticks and a Coke with daughter #1.

Learned the game Axis & Allies with my son tonight.

Helped my son with email etiquette to adults for his science fair project.

Helped daughter #1 pick out a picture from our last vacation.

Gave daughter #2 a big hug.

Listened.

Tucked in both daughters and gave my son a pat before bed.

Remembered that the time I spend with my children is the best gift I can give them.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
