Impressions In The Snow

“A thousand words will not leave so deep an impression as one deed.”

— Henrik Ibsen

Footprints cast in concrete will make an impression far longer than footprints cast in snow. Likewise, some impressions we make on people last longer than others.

My daughters' footprints this morning in the far-too-rare Portland snow

We can impress them with our brilliance, our beauty, our talent, our clothes, our cars, our house, or our money.

Or, we can impress them by listening, giving ourselves, and trying to make a difference in their lives.

Guess which impression will last longer.

Hosted a teenage girl sleepover and cleaned up their huge mess. It may not make an impression on my daughters tonight, but hopefully, someday, it will.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
