World Gratitude Day

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

— William Arthur Ward

Today, September 21st, is World Gratitude Day.

Haven’t heard of this holiday? Neither had I.

But I can’t think of a more honest, humble, gracious, uplifting way to spend a day than to spend it in thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation of others for all they give to us.

Hats off to GYA Today for bringing it to my attention (along with some inspirational quotes).

I am most appreciative.

Yesterday’s gifts of time … Spent the lunch hour stocking boxes for the True Life Church’s food pantry (Thanks for leading the food move, and to the other members of your church, for serving those in need, Bob!) … Processed two new Toastmaster memberships (Thanks for joining the club, MJ & Dara!)… Handled other treasurer related bank issues for my Toastmaster club as well (Thanks for making the transition to a new bank smooth, Gabriela!) … Spent the evening at the open house for my daughter’s school. (Thanks for inspiring us and leading your school through a tumultuous time with an ever-present smile, Zan!) … Changed the Conestoga Middle School’s reader board with my wife (Thanks for the help, Melissa!) … Put in some extra thought to make a small piece of software I’m working on at the office, work better. (Thanks for the input, Lisa & Martin!)

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
