“Whether we wake or we sleep,
Whether we carol or weep,
The Sun with his Planets in chime,
Marketh the going of Time.”— Edward Fitzgerald
Time is a daily gift that we may keep or give.
The paradox is that whether we choose to keep it or give it, we lose it.
The irony is that whether we choose to keep it or give it, we gain something.
But what we gain when we give our time may be more subtle, more inspiring, more satisfying, and more profound than what we gain by keeping it.
The question is …
… what will you choose today?
Yesterday’s gift of time … Was the line judge at my daughters’ volleyball game.
