The Sun Never Goes Away

“Be still, sad heart, and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.”

— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Into each life some rain must fall …

… but that doesn’t mean everything has to get all wet.

Offer an umbrella, a coat, a roof, or some shelter to those in need when it’s raining.

The sun never really goes away. It’s just up to us to remind each other that it’s still there.

Yesterday’s gift of time … At my wife’s notice, in the middle of a downpour, I shut a van door at a restaurant for a mother with two young children (judging by the car seat count) who had forgotten to close it. With luck, I was in time and a child had a dry seat to sit in on the ride home.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
