Volunteering Is A Bargain

“Volunteers are paid in six figures… S-M-I-L-E-S.”

— Gayla LeMaire

During times of economic recession. when we’re focused on getting and keeping as much as we can, it’s important to remember one important thing about volunteering.

Free

It’s free.

It’s a free way to build a resume, a free way to network, a free way to meet people, a free way to give back, a free way to change your attitude, and a free way to start looking at the world in a new way.

Plus, for every moment you’re volunteering, you are not spending money.

That’s a pretty good bargain.

Yesterday’s gift of time … Volunteer line judge at my twin daughters’ volleyball game … Dishes … Also, not free, but brought one of my daughters a surprise hamburger to her school for lunch.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!
