That old expression …
“You get what you give.”
That famous quote …
“For it is in giving that we receive.”
That ancient saying …
“No one has ever become poor by giving.”
There’s a reason those proverbs have been with us so long.
Maybe there’s something to this giving thing after all.
This past week’s gift of time … Too much to write down over the past week, but it was my pleasure to help my daughters with their homework, give time to a friend on a speech, drive my children to school, toss a newspaper up on a neighbor’s doorstep to save them some steps, bring coffee in bed to my wife, and give an extra smile and wave to every passing jogger.
I love the power of suggestion in your sharing. I feel invited to do some giving today and in the days ahead! Thank you!
🙂 Awesome!
Coincidentally – or maybe not so – I came across this blog post yesterday that I thought you would appreciate: http://www.inc.com/jeff-haden/networking-tips-how-to-strengthen-relationships.html
Have a giving day. Vicki
Very nice story, Vickie. … One of the interesting points to me in the story is that the “door-opener”, as near as I can see, didn’t get anything in return except a thanks … When we can give time to someone else without expectation or possibility of compensation, we start to touch on the real magic behind giving.
Thanks for sharing,
Eric
