Reminders

“If you look at Kiva.org, people with a very modest amount of money can make a huge positive impact all around the world.”

— Former U.S. President Bill Clinton

When Kiva sent me an email stating that I had $27 in repayments waiting to be loaned, I went their site and searched the list of people trying to improve their business, get to college, or empower themselves in challenging circumstances.

The process was a reminder that,

  • there are people throughout the world inhibited by inadequate access to loans.
  • there are people wanting to make their lives better through hard work.
  • there are people that have far less than I do.
  • I have a lot.

One Kiva loan. Many reminders.

Today’s gift of time … Re-loaned through Kiva to Gleceria in the Philippines who is trying to keep her business afloat.

About Eric Winger

Our perception of time is key to how we use our time. The most fundamental way to change that perception is to give our time. This opens us up to new opportunities and ideas from which we can build to really make a difference. ... Yes, we *do* have time to make a difference!

Thank you, Eric. I was not aware of Kiva, but my wife and I will be making our first loan this weekend.

That’s fabulous, Jack! I hope you find the experience of making a micro-loan as rewarding as I have.

  3. How wonderful…headed over there now to check it out. My life is indeed abundant in so many ways…and I am reminded today of the invitation that’s always there to share it with others who may need a little help to reach their dreams. Thanks!
