“Do not take anything for granted — not one smile or one person or one rainbow or one breath, or one night in your cozy bed.”
— Terri Guillemets
Closing up an early morning breakfast meeting, and after goodbyes had been exchanged, I tried to take one more sip of coffee from my paper cup. Unfortunately, it was empty.
No matter, I thought, “I’ll just get another cup at the office.”
Then as I started to push the door open to leave, I stopped and said to myself, “Not everyone can say that.”
We take a lot for granted in our lives. Especially the little things.
Like a cup of coffee.
Today’s gift of time … project work and a meeting for the start-up initiative with One Ummah on which I’m working
Thanks for the reminder…so much to be grateful for (so fitting as I finish my second cup of coffee this morning…)
Very ironic, indeed. 🙂
